The Fallen Queen

The castle seemed to crumble beneath me,

The sword left its sheath,

My thoughts and fears were an unending sea,

The dog bared its teeth.

My shadows seeped through the cracks,

I simply cannot fight them anymore,

My friends have turned their backs,

Gone are the days of fairytales and folk lore.

I was a queen, I wore a golden crown,

But this is no longer my kingdom, it cannot be.

Forced on my knees, head held down.

Ally become foe, foe became ally; reality was too mixed to see.

An except from my journal.
